Sponsored Post: An Alternative To Giving Up Smoking

If you’re one of the many people who has tried and failed to give up smoking, then fear not, you are not alone. There are millions of people like you in the world. They would love to give up their smoking habit, but no matter how many attempts they make at doing so, it never quite happens.

There’s often a lot of guilt and stress associated with failure, but with smoking, one of the best ways to relieve those feelings is to light a cigarette, take a drag and only then do you start to feel more relaxed. No-one is perfect, some people manage to quit and others don’t.

However, there is now a pretty good alternative to smoking, where you still get the nicotine hit that your body is craving, but with less of the harmful toxins that you’ll find in traditional cigarettes. Yes, we’re talking about e-cigarettes.

These were regarded as novelty items a few years ago, as they were really expensive to buy and seemed a little gimmicky. However, the price for e-cigarettes has really dropped in the last couple of years and you can now get starter kits for around £25 or $50. And of course, they’ll work out a lot cheaper than traditional cigarettes as once you have the kit, you only need to buy refill cartridges and if you buy in bulk, they become cheaper still.

You can also mix it up a little by buying different flavor cartridges and there are now nicotine free cartridges, so you get all the habits of smoking with no downside at all.

Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine but none of the harmful toxins you’ll find in traditional tobacco cigarettes, like tar and carbon monoxide. You don’t get any cash, or yellow staining of teeth, fingers, and clothes. Perhaps most importantly, there isn’t any smoke as the e-cigarette only emits a vapor when the nicotine enters the atomizing chamber inside the unit. So there’s no second-hand smoke for your friends and family while you ‘smoke’ an e-cig.

Every manufacturer will try to convince you that theirs is the best electronic cigarette on the market, but really there is little to choose between the different brands. For people who can’t give up smoking, the e-cigs now available certainly offer an alternative that’s worth trying out.

What is a Holistic Health Coach?

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been asked by friends, family, and acquaintances what Holistic Health Coaching is all about. In case you were wondering too, I’ve compiled a list of FAQ to keep you in the know….

What is a Holistic Health Coach?

To put it simply, a Holistic Health Coach supports individuals around issues and challenges related to diet and lifestyle. The topics covered in the sessions will depend on the individual and their needs and personal goals. It could be anything from giving up sugar, losing weight, increasing energy, decreasing stress or correcting digestive issues.

Why is it called “Holistic Health Coaching”?

The Institute of Integrative Nutrition teaches us to look at a person as a whole and to consider all aspects of a person’s life – not purely just what they eating. By not addressing a stressful work environment, toxic relationships, a poor exercise regime or lack of down time you may completely miss the issue which is most affecting your client.

Where are you studying?

At the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, it’s the largest nutrition school in the world and has some incredible teachers the likes of Deepak Chopra, David Wolfe, and Joshua Rosenthal.

What happens in the Holistic Health Coaching sessions?

I meet with my VIP clients every 2 weeks for 1 hour over a 6 month period. The program is completely structured yet based on the specific individual needs. Included in the sessions are handouts, recommendations, weekly accountability and special gifts to get you closer to your goal!

Find out more here.

What is the difference between a Health Coach, Nutritionist or Dietitian?

Dietitians and Nutritionists receive more training than Health Coaches and therefore can work with people who are suffering from serious medical conditions. Holistic Health Coaches generally work with people who have less serious health concerns such as weight gain, digestion issues, acne, poor sleep, stress, low energy levels or caffeine or junk food addictions.

Do you have any questions about Holistic Health Coaching? Leave a comment and I’ll do my best to answer it for you.

A close up with Connie Chapman

Today I am SO excited to share with you an interview with the gorgeous Connie Chapman from www.conniechapman.com. Connie will be speaking at our Next Live Aspire Blog event on the 21st April along with the lovely Alison Morgan from The Relauncher. Have you got your tickets yet? The Early Bird Tickets end on Monday so get in quick!

Meet Connie!

I am a life coach, writer, and newbie entrepreneur. I offer 1:1 coaching services which are designed to empower women to follow their heart, do what they love and carve out their dream life.

I am the creator of conniechapman.com – an inspiring online space for women who want to live happy, fulfilling, and magical lives. I am also the author of the e-book, The 12 Step Dream Creator Guide, and I am the creator of The 90 Day Transformation Project.

Over the next few months, I am also looking at expanding the range of services I offer to include group coaching programs and workshops for women living in Sydney.

I have been a personal development junkie for years – I began meditating and reading self-help books when I was 18 years old. I always loved this work, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that I really started believing I could turn it into a business.

One day I decided to start a blog so that I could share all of the amazing information I was learning and the experiences I was having. It was called a life of perfect days, and I wrote on this blog for 3 years. I attracted a following of thousands of readers from all over the world, and I would constantly have people emailing me asking for advice and help.

I knew I loved sharing messages of positivity, inspiration, and happiness and I began to realize that I may be able to get paid for it! So, in 2011 I began my training to become a life coach.

My biggest challenge has been myself! Along with this journey, I have had to overcome a lot of self-doubt and fear.

Over the years I have developed quite an extensive tool kit of practices to help me with this, but one of the most important things I did was receive coaching myself. I use meditation, journaling, affirmations, and visualization, but without the support of my amazing coaches and mentors, I am not sure I would be where I am today.

I eat a lot of greens! They are my favorite foods on the planet. I love fresh pressed juices, and green smoothies and I find they make my skin glow. I have also eliminated quite a few things from my diet that does not support me including sugar, dairy, gluten, and soy.

I have been amazed at how quickly my business has grown, so at the moment I am really just staying open to whatever opportunities present themselves to me!

In saying that there are a few key things I would love to achieve. Writing a book is a big one for me, as is being able to travel the world running workshops and speaking.

Over the next 5 years, I want to continue to grow my business and empower as many women as I can, while also ensuring my business supports me to have a nourishing and balanced lifestyle.

5 things I’m loving at the moment

My husband

This year was our first Valentine’s Day being married, plus it’s the first year we went out to dinner for Valentine’s Day!

Our anniversary is on the 17th February so we’re always done something big for our anniversary and kept Valentine’s Day pretty quiet….

But now since our wedding anniversary is in September, there’s really no excuse not to do something for Valentine’s Day. Don’t you agree?!

Europe in a Box

My blogging friend Cyndie from Mademoiselle Slimalicious has just launched a new business. Packed with delicious authentic treats, educational, cultural and culinary information, Europe in a Box brings new flavors directly to your doorstep. Highlighting several European culinary destinations each month, the subscription service provides an ever-changing mix of hand-picked gourmet foods and drinks.

Becoming a member of Europe in a Box is a way to discover great food for a great cause: a percentage of each sale from Europe in a Box is donated to All Together Now, the only national charity in Australia that is dedicated to tackling racism issues. For more information about Europe in a Box click here.

Glass Straws

B-School Babe Monique sent me one of her glass straws to try and I can’t get enough of it. I drink smoothies every morning for breakfast and I hate to use plastic straws (such a waste and bad for the environment), so Glass Straws are the perfect alternative! They come in all different shapes and sizes, click here for more information.

Banana

Maca powder

Raw cacao powder

Flaxseed oil

Self Love

Another friend who I met through B-School, Michelle from Sacred Self is hosting an event on Self Love in March. Melissa Ambrosini and Nadine Fawell are also speaking and all attendees will receive gorgeous gifts from Sacred Self and the other beautiful sponsors.

Getting enough Vitamin D

A revolutionary Australian-designed device provides a personalized alert when you’ve had sufficient exposure to harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun, and when you’ve had enough sun for your dose of vitamin D – taking into account your skin type, previous exposure, and unprotected skin.

My skin is relatively pale skin and I’m always a little unsure of how much sun I should be getting, this device takes away all the guess work!

What are you loving at the moment?

Love you lots!

11 Ways to Invest in Yourself

The concept of investing in yourself can take a while to get your head around.

I remember when I first heard the words getting thrown on a blog post I was all “yeah yeah I get it, invest in yourself” but I don’t think the concept had fully sunk in until recently.

When I say invest in yourself I mean, care enough about yourself to devote time and energy to improving in particular areas and get the help and guidance you need to fully succeed.

After university, I remember feeling so relieved that I would never have to study again. Little did I learn a few years later I would be studying something completely different and learning daily about WordPress, websites and a whole world of different things.

I continue to invest in my education on a daily basis. Some days I do better than others but the intention is always there.

How can you invest in yourself today?

Is your education, spiritual practice, personal development, health, well-being, finances, fitness, business, career, relationships or happiness in need of some investing in?

Do you need extra support, guidance or purely time set aside to devote energy to a particular area that needs some love and attention?

This week make it your aim to spend half an hour investing in yourself in ways you normally wouldn’t.

Get out your diary and schedule in time, this way it will actually happen and won’t get pushed out to next week or next year!

If you need to invest in your health or well-being I would love to work with you

As of the 1st of February, I will no longer be offering 3-month coaching packages. I will be focusing purely on my 6 Month Cosmopolitan Wellness – VIP Nutrition + Mindset Coaching To Up Your Confidence + Live a Chic Life.

This program is incredible and it’s already given outstanding results, like Kate who has given up sugar (and no longer craves it) and Susan who has lost 5 kilos. You go girls!!

However, if you’re the type of girl who likes options, apply for your Discovery Session now so you have a choice of 3 or 6 months worth of coaching. We can then discuss the two program and see which one is best suited to you and your individual needs.

If I’m not right for you that’s all good too lovely 🙂 But please please please love yourself enough to invest in yourself…

You deserve it!

Speak soon.

Love,
