This week Live Healthy Simply has been a flashback from the ’50s. Bread baking, flower arranging and today, ice cream making! My Mum made this recipe for me all the time when I was young, and we made it last time I went home for the weekend. It’s similar to if you were making a smoothie – only at the end you freeze it.
Ingredients
1 cup of strawberries
1 cup of blueberries
or 2 bananas (we used bananas)
2 cups of soya or almond milk
2 table spoons of maple syrup
1/2 cup of coconut oil
Steps
Place all items in a blender and blender thoroughly
Place mixure in a tray and leave to set for 6-8 hours in the freezer
Enjoy!
Now a quick disclaimer, this recipe uses maple syrup and maple syrup is frutose. If you are avoiding all fructose you might want to try the recipe with stevia? If you do, please let me know how it turns out!
What is your favourite ice cream? Do you ever make ice cream at home?
