Restaurant Review Yulli’s Surry Hills

I know I don’t normally post restaurant reviews on Mondays – but this restaurant was so good that I couldn’t wait…It’s being added to My Top 5 Vegan Friendly Restaurants in Sydney.

In case you can’t see due to the small sign and my not so great photography, I went to Yulli’s on Saturday night for dinner. Like I said on Friday this was my first time dining at Yulli’s, which is crazy considering how popular it is. “Haven’t you lived in Sydney for 6 years?” “Aren’t you vegan?” and “Don’t you write about vegan and vegetarian food?!” are just some of the disgusted responses I received when I shared this little secret… It makes me think there must be other vegan gems I’m missing out on!

Yulli’s is a vegetarian restaurant however many of there dishes are vegan or can be made vegan. As you can see from above they have a SEPARATE vegan menu which is a whole page long! It also includes vegan beers and wines…

Chontelle and I ordered the Vietnamese Crepe. It was so fresh and completely different from dishes I normally order. It was FULL of veggies.

Ursula ordered the Eggplant Involtini which is a vegetarian dish – she said it was delicious! We decided to skip dessert because it was already pretty late by the time we finished but they looked uh- mazing! I’m keen to try The Sticky Date and Pecan Pudding next time.

The night went on to include a walk down Oxford St, playing Jenga at Name this Bar and some other pretty entertaining events which I’m afraid i’m going to have to keep to myself ;) I hope you had a fun weekend! xx

Went to Yulli's for dinner last night.
    Highly recommended.
My brothers and i had Falafel (best ever, and the chutney really a real kick); Orange and Pear salad (beautifully sweet dressing), Mixed Chip Plate (all gone in 10 seconds!), Leek and Ginger Dumplings (lots of fresh ginger really gives you a zing), Vietnamese Crepe (large perfectly crunchy crepe wrapped around yummy veges; enough for 3 to share), grilled Haloumi (again, gone in 10 seconds), Eggplant Involtini (very tasty) and Sticky Date and Pecan Pudding with Coconut Ice cream (the pudding great but the ice cream divine).
What Jess didn't mention in her review is that Yulli's has about the best beer menu in Sydney. It has really interesting boutique beers (of all strengths) from all over Australia. Can recommend the Pigs Fly Pilsener (brewed in Bowral)

Sounds like you had a fantastic night! I'm taking Faiz to there next weekend (he is jealous I didn't take him the first time!)
