I mentioned on Friday that I am now a proud owner of a Philips QuickClean Juicer! It arrived on Wednesday just before we were due to leave for dinner at Yulli’s and it was so frustrating because I was dying to get my hands on it and try it out! Luckily I was free Thursday night and could spend time playing with my new appliance.
So, what do I think of it?
Well, first off it’s really easy to use unlike my parents’ juicer which has a million pieces and basically takes up a whole cupboard. The QuickClean Juicer has four parts, all of which are big thus decreasing the likelihood of losing them in the dishwasher, being thrown away or choked on by small children. It’s compact and attractive enough to sit on the kitchen bench which is a must for me because we all know the chances of me putting it away each time I use it are slim to none. All in all it’s the perfect juicer for someone who has limited space and time for cleaning a juicer.
And about the cleaning, how bad is it?
Not bad at all. It’s very easy to clean, mainly because there are no fiddly pieces to remove the juice pulp from. All you need to do is remove the pulp from the pulp container and put it in the dishwasher. It only took one minute and ten seconds to wash my juicer by hand, so it is very possible to clean the juicer in under a minute just as Philips claims.

What should you juice?
From my chat with the Juice Master, Jason Vale I learned that the combinations are endless! The trick is to add an apple, orange or carrot to any combination and that somehow makes nearly all juices taste delicious – Even my silverbeet, broccoli, carrot, lemon & pineapple combination turned out nice and I was really concerned about that one.
Here are some combinations I tried over the past few days
Celery, pineapple, strawberries, silverbeet and watermelon
Silverbeet, broccoli, carrot, lemon & pineapple
Strawberries, pineapple, cucumber, carrot, lemon & broccoli
I’m excited to see how I feel and look different after a month of regular juices? So far I have really enjoyed juicing but only time will tell how adding juices to my diet will affect me long term.
Questions: Do you have a juicer? Would you consider buying a Philips QuickClean Juicer? Did you notice any changes when you first started juicing? How has juicing changed your life?
