Why did you start Polly’s Path to Health & Happiness?
Initially Polly’s Path to Health & Happiness began as a blog called something completely different as I used it as an outlet to update people on my journey with cancer and what I was doing to help heal my body through diet and lifestyle. Over the last 2 years it has developed into more of a general blog about everything I feel passionate that people should be aware of in order to experience as much health and happiness as possible which is my primary goal.
What does your diet consist of?
I eat a plant-based vegan diet with plenty of green juices, smoothies, greens, nuts, seeds, sprouts and superfoods.
How has changing your eating habits improved your health while living with cancer?
I believe that changing my eating habits from vegetarian to a plant-based vegan diet has really elevated my overall health. Despite living with cancer for 2 years and having received no conventional treatment, I have felt and looked better than ever.
What is your favourite dish or snack?
I love a big green salad and I’m also a huge fan of chia seed and homemade nut milk with superfoods as I find that really comforting to eat.
- Soak 1 cup almonds overnight
- Drain almonds and blend with 3 cups filtered water.
- Strain through nut milk bag or pop sock(!)
- Add stevia, honey or agave to sweeten
- Add pure alcohol free vanilla extract (optional)
You can substitute Almonds for Brazil nut milk, hazelnuts, cashews, hemp and any nut.
You can then make a delicious chia pudding with the milk using brazil nut milk, goji berries, blueberries and chia seeds.
What is the number one thing you would recommend to a person who wants to improve their health?
I suggest adding in as many good foods each day, starting with a juice and gradually weeding out the foods that you know aren’t good for you. Make small changes everyday as they can make a big difference to your overall health and gradually you will begin to eat, drink and think cleaner.
What are your goals for Polly’s Path to Health & Happiness?
I wish for Polly’s Path to become an even more popular hub of health information to help inspire others to improve their health and make small adjustments to their lives so that they can experience the best life ever.
