We’re moving. Yep our place has sold and we need to be out in a few short weeks. I don’t know where we’re going but I feel surprisingly calm. The right place will turn up, I know it will. No point in stressing and imagining what if’s – I don’t want to drive myself and Faiz crazy. I know the place we find will be the place we’re meant to be in for the next year but it would be nice if just so happened to be in our current building - Universe I hope you’re listening!
It’s an interesting feeling knowing you have to be out by a certain date and not knowing where you’re going to go. Exciting, scary, daunting, a whole mix of emotions. In the past I would have been a complete stress ball, spending hours scheming and plotting to make the right apartment appear but…
Now the thought of doing all that is exhausting.
and not worth it.
Sure we’re looking at apartments and putting in applications but I’m not calling every real estate agent in town or spending hours trawling through domain.com just in case our dream place gets posted that second. The place we get will be perfect for us, all the frantic searching and stressing will just make the process long and tedious.
So how do you deal with the uncertainty of the feature?
- Believe in what you are doing and do the required work – View apartments, fill out applications but remain nonchalant (definition -to be coolly unconcerned, don’t you just love that), this part is very important. When we try to control every situation we’re often left disappointed when the experience doesn’t match up to the one we had “planned”. Being opened minded and open to different options is crucial in times of uncertainly.
- Trust and know that the right situation, job, apartment or relationship will come to you. It will! When you surrender and stop worrying about the “when” “how” and “who” you will be surprised at how easily everything flows.
I’d love to know your experience of trying to control the future, does it work for you? How do you handle times of uncertainty? If you found this post useful please share it with 3 friends.
Happy weekend!
