Sugar free Christmas ideas + recipes

Last Christmas, I was 1 month into being sugar-free. For 8 weeks over last December and January, I ate zero grams of sugar, inspired from Sarah Wilson’s I Quit Sugar Ebook. I have no idea why I choose the party season to give up sugar… To make it a little more difficult perhaps?

So just in case, you’re in the same boat I thought I would share a few tips to make your life a little easier and hopefully keep you sane in the silly season.

For now, the main sugar I eat is fruit and the occasional ice cream or raw chocolate treat with low levels of agave nectar. My sweet tooth has basically gone and I can wholehearted say it’s definitely worth going sugar-free.

It’s taken me a loooooooooooooong time to get to this point so don’t freak out if you’re not there yet. Patience along with stevia or Natvia (natural, fructose free sweeteners) will get you there.

Sarah Wilson has released The I Quit Sugar Christmas Meal Plan so if you’re feeling a little stuck or need some sugar-free holiday meal ideas (many vego and vegan options included) I recommend you have a look. She has also released The I Quit Sugar Xmas Gift Card which includes her cookbook and 8-week program in gift voucher form.

Or if you’re craving something sweet but trying to avoid sugar try one of these recipes:

Carob Crunch

Chocolate Spiders

Chocolate Chai Cookies with Natvia

Superfood Chocolate Crackles

Pancakes with Chocolate Coconut Butter

Chocolate Brownies

Easter Chocolate Treats (I do realize it’s not Easter)

I hope you don’t find giving up sugar too hard over the holidays. Keep up the good work! I promise it’s worth it in the end!

Have you given up sugar? Are you finding it particularly difficult during the holiday season?
