What is a Holistic Health Coach?

Over the last few weeks I’ve been asked by friends, family and acquaintances what Holistic Health Coaching is all about. In case you were wondering too, I’ve compiled a list of FAQ to keep you in the know….

What is a Holistic Health Coach?

To put it simply, a Holistic Health Coach supports individuals around issues and challenges related to diet and lifestyle. The topics covered in the sessions will depend on the individual and their needs and personal goals. It could be anything from giving up sugar, loosing weight, increasing energy, decreasing stress or correcting digestive issues.

Why is it called “Holistic Health Coaching”?

The Institute of Integrative Nutrition teaches us to look at a person as a whole and to consider all aspects of a person’s life – not purely just what they eating. By not addressing a stressful work environment, toxic relationships, a poor exercise regime or lack of down time you may completely miss the issue which is most affecting your client.

Where are you studying?

At the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, it’s the largest nutrition school in the world and has some incredible teachers the likes of Deepak Choopra, David Wolfe and Joshua Roseenthal.

What happens in the Holistic Health Coaching sessions?

I meet with my VIP clients every 2 weeks for 1 hour over a 6 month period. The program is completely structured yet based around the specific individual needs. Included in the sessions are handouts, recommendations, weekly accountability and special gifts to get you closer to your goal!

What is the difference between a Health Coach, Nutritionist or Dietitian?

Dietitians and Nutritionists receive more training than Health Coaches and therefore can work with people who are suffering from serious medical conditions. Holistic Health Coaches generally work with people who have less serious health concerns such as weight gain, digestion issues, acne, poor sleep, stress, low energy levels or caffeine or junk food addictions.
