My Mum is an excellent cook and I’m forever getting her to send me recipes. So I thought once a week I’d feature a recipe from her so you can join in the fun to. Take a peak at the first installment.. {Mum’s Recipe} – Yellow Dahl Ingredients 1 cup red lentils 1½ cups water 1 onion 2 cloves garlic 1 teas freshly grated ginger 1 teas ground turmeric 1 teas cumin 2 cardamom pods – extract seeds and grind chilli to taste – fresh or ground ½ teas sea salt Fresh coriander for garnish Method Rinse lentils until water runs clear. Drain and set aside. Sautee onions, garlic and ginger in oil or water until tender. Add spices and cook for 1 minute. Add lentils and water and bring to boil. Simmer for approximately 20 mins or until puree-like texture. Stir often to ensure lentils to not stick to the pan. Serve with rice and vegetables. With love, xx

The post {Mum’s Recipe} – Yellow Dahl appeared first on Live Healthy Simply.

I’ve never considered myself a natural when it comes to networking. Some can do it easily, I however, have had to work at it. I’ve become better over time but I still have those instances though where I completely flounder and feel like a complete idiot. Like the example below: A few months ago I was attending and helping promote Sarah Wilson’s book signing. I was really excited to meet Sarah in person after winning a blogging contest on her site and communicating with her on social media. Happy days. or so I thought. On the way to the event Faiz and I had a massive fight. Over directions – so cliche! We rarely fight and when we do I feel completely off balance. I can’t function properly nor should I do anything that requires to use more than 5% of my brain. So of course I felt like a right mess at the event. I spoke to about 2 people. Stumbled over what I was saying. Felt like crying at a drop of a hat. It was great. A career highlight for sure. When I finally spoke to Sarah I was completely awkward and rambled something incoherent. What made it worse was the girl in front of me was the epitome of cool. Said all the right things, was congratulatory without being stalkerish. That sort of thing. I remember getting in the car and feeling like complete crap and vowing to myself that I would never be in that situation ever [...]

The post Up Your Confidence & Network Like A Boss (Plus My Networking Horror Story) appeared first on Live Healthy Simply.

The Institute for Integrative Nutrition use to offer enrollment discounts on their tuition fairly regularly - but they hardly ever do anymore. So when I got this email I thought it was definitely worth sharing incase you were keen to get your health coaching on, but you were a $1000 or so short in funding. Integrative Nutrition is offering you a chance to save on the cost of enrollment if you enroll between Tuesday, May 21st and Monday, May 27th. You’ll be able to save $500 + an additional $500 if you pay in full, which is a total of $1000! The next class begins in July and this is the perfect time to enroll because you’ll be able to get started on your materials and get to know the community before the course begins, so you’ll be ahead of the curve. To sweeten the deal even more mention my name when you enroll and receive a 1 hour coaching session with me to help launch your new career as a Health Coach! I can share with you how launched Live Healthy Simply, Cosmopolitan Wellness and our online health food store ShopHealthy.com.au or we can just chat about kale and quinoa…I’m up for whatever! Let me know if you have any questions about the school, I’d be happy to share my personal experiences with you to help you make the right decision.

By Jessica Nazarali Yesterday I ran my last live call for Cosmopolitan Wellness. (Sign up here to be the first to know about the July intake!) I’ve been asked by a few people how I created the program, so I thought I’d share it with you too in case you were interested. NB - All of these points can be applied many different life situations – not just creating or launching a program, just so you know. Back in January I was talking to my coach about my goals for the year. I wanted to create an online program but figured it would be in the later half of the year, you know, like in December. We talked this over and she said Why at the end of the year? Why not now? Truth be told I couldn’t come up with with a legitimate reason not to do it now. Sure I didn’t feel 100% “ready” but would I feel ready in December? Probably not. When you anything for the first time it’s scary and you don’t know exactly what to expect. But if we all sat around until we were 100% “ready”, we wouldn’t get anything done. So I started creating and launched Cosmopolitan Wellness in April. How exactly did I do it? I picked a date, told my friends and family, announced it to my list and wrote a blog post about it. I began looking for the right people who could help me pull it together and started creating content. If you want to have a project created [...]

The post How I Overcame Procrastination and Decided to Create Cosmopolitan Wellness appeared first on Live Healthy Simply.
